President, Vice President, CEO (or in martial arts terms, Master, Kyoshi, Honshi) Most cultures value titles, it’s been a part of tradition since the beginning of time. But in truth, titles are meaningless and empty. People who make their ultimate goal of reaching that title end up there but don’t feel any different.
That’s because it’s not the title that make the person, it’s the person that makes the title. Once you have achieved that title / position, that’s the starting point of your leadership journey.
People don’t want to follow a title, they want to follow the person. Make sure your leadership skills match the title you’re wanting.
