Our problem with becoming successful in the martial arts is not that we don’t have enough opportunities to become successful. Our problem is that we give ourselves too many opportunities to fail.
If we had no computers, no video games, no TV, no distractions, we would have plenty of opportunities to become really good at the martial arts.
But when it comes time for class, it’s tough to stop playing that video game, stop watching that show, it’s tough to turn off the computer and show up to class.
Excuses are easily to live with, the consequences and regret are a little tougher.
