Genuinely caring or loving another person does not mean that you give them what they always want or demand.
If a child cries for candy to eat instead of dinner, do you hand them over the sugary treat? If a loved one is an alcoholic, do you give them what they crave?
Genuinely caring or loving another person means you have to be able to draw that line and say no when it calls for it. You have to love them enough to act in their best interest even if they act out.
